On Thursday 16th May, IM Properties welcomed the community to the Sawpits Centre Towcester to meet with members of the project team
Over the course of the four hour-long sessions, we heard a range of views and ideas from the community, which the project team will now reflect on.
This included suggestions around how the community fund could be utilised and promoted, how best to engage with training partners and key considerations that will need to be made during the construction and operational phases.
There were also questions asked around the employment need for the site, and ‘fit’ with the existing socio economic demographic (noting this will evolve as Towcester grows). Attendees heard that the scheme will support a range of businesses and hence a range of employment outcomes, and that IM Properties will continue to explore how it can play its part – as a developer – in maximising the opportunities. There was also much interest in how the proposed buildings will be landscaped to reduce the visual impact and how the highways modelling has been assessed and will be managed moving forward.
While we recognise that this project has generated strong views, we very much appreciate the constructive way in which members of the community engaged with the team.
The purpose of the events was to re-engage with the community and to start a conversation. There will be more information which we will share on the project website or we can be contacted at enquiries@towcesterpark.co.uk.
Thank you again for taking the time to come and meet with us and for the constructive way in which you engaged.
